Vacature Business Development Manager

The department

Business Development is responsible for the Sales and Development of Contract Logistics (CL) / Supply Chain Management (SCM). Joining our team will grant you the opportunity to actively support the business development of our Contract Logistics activities and to operate and communicate within an international network.

This position offers the chance to be part of a team of Business Development and Tender Management for the Netherlands. You will use your market and customer expertise to drive the Sales, Tender- & Contract Negotiation activities and to successfully work with colleagues to achieve a successful implementation of the new business.

  • You establish national and international target accounts cooperating with Business Development, Corporate Account Management and national and/or regional Sales, to develop new business for CL/SCM
  • Customer development and acquisition for CL/SCM Services in our target vertical markets: Consumer, Electronics, Industrial and Healthcare
  • You build and manage executive level relationships with internal stakeholders and account owners at National and international level across multiple business units
  • You understand CL/SCM channel requirements, and facilitate work sessions with the (internal/external) Solutions teams to deliver high quality and competitive tender responses
  • You are able to create a gap analysis of the current services within operations and work with National and Regional management to develop solutions in response to customer requirements
  • You assist in the RFQ process by providing design concepts, deadlines, value added information, presentations, and process / status tracking
  • You maintain a good customer relationship, during transition and implementation phases
  • You are able to meet or exceed annual, national sales targets
  • You represent Schenker at relevant internal and external events and symposia

Job Requirements
  • Bachelor Level in Logistics and 3- 5 years' experience in CL/SCM Business
  • Experienced in CL Business Development activities
  • You have proven capability to create and maintain a sales pipeline and to close deals
  • Multi-tasking ability to work different programs and plans at the same time
  • You have excellent communication skills, sales and negotiation skills
  • You are able to communicate with all levels of an organization
  • Ability to travel regionally frequently
  • Ability to manage your own agenda and work proactively and autonomously
  • Strong English skills essential (written and verbal)
