The Department of Medical Informatics of the Academic Medical Center performs research in the field of patient care evaluation using information technology. Multiple medical registries are located at the department, including the ERA-EDTA Registry for adult patients on dialysis or transplantation and the ESPN/ERA-EDTA Registry. These registries hold close contacts with the (paediatric) nephrologists from all over Europe. Job Description
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated PhD student in the field of paediatric nephrology epidemiology. The applicant will set up the new International Pediatric Nephrology Association (IPNA) Registry, a global registry for children with end-stage renal failure in collaboration with paediatric nephrologists worldwide. He/she will write scientific articles and a PhD thesis on the global epidemiology of end-stage renal failure in children, with a focus on the causes and treatment results of dialysis and transplantation. The candidate will work closely together with the European registry for paediatric nephrology (ESPN/ERA-EDTA Registry) which is also housed in our department and contains demographic and clinical data on more than 10.000 children from 35 European countries. You will be employed by AMC Medical Research BV. The salary for the PhD-student is EUR 2.222,00 gross per month, increasing to EUR 2.846,00 in the fourth year. In addition you are entitled to a holiday allowance of 8% and an end of year bonus of 8.3% of gross yearly income as well as a pension.
